wet

it was wet, wet concrete after a hot day tends to permeate the air. thicken the mist with miniscule dust. you can almost see the barely invisible particles as you cross the pedestrian strip, kicking puddles into the cracks. it feels like the cracks go down forever, deep into the earth’s core. the flood has to go somewhere. the lights are turned high enough that the billboards reflect on the glossy ground. the water captures the motion, no matter where you look there’s an ad, only disrupted by footsteps. everything is tinged blue. the tar road, the concrete buildings, even the people. you can’t tell if it’s the light or the storm promised sky. perhaps it’s both. working in tandem to wash the world in colour. you should have grabbed your umbrella, you can smell rain on the horizon.

ramblings

a lot of my warm ups for creative writing i seemed to be focused a lot on the senses and descriptions. i’m trying to think of what gravitates me to pick those ones, like what draws me in exactly.

i like it tho, even something as mundane as a rainy city walk can be shrouded in an air of oddness or mystery, maybe mystery is the better word.

i won’t lie that this is my favourite or best work, because something in it screams that it would be so much better but it’s that potential that makes me look at it and wonder what else i can drag from it that makes me want to put it up on the website.

so here it is

i’m for sure failing 75 soft, but i’m giving it my best shot. this past week has been an absolutely wreck but i’m working on picking it back up

good news wise, i’ve registered and paid for my fall classes and all i’m registered for my winter classes. i feel so close to the end but also so far away that it makes me antsy. i’m really excited for my classes this term, some of them are not my first choices but i’m really happy with the teacher who’s assigned so i know it’ll still be such a good class even if it’s not the one i really want.

other than that, see yall next time.

Got anything to say?
