the shock of consistency

leighannnicole.com january stats

Turns out when you make up your mind to post at least weekly on this platform you’ll actually get to see results?

I got my email this week about my January stats for this site and the results were kinda shocking.

Now keep in mind that I picked up a new follower this month – they know who they are and that I appreciate them. Also without fail my partner is up here liking and commenting. But my views and visitors skyrocketed.

Aside from posting regularly I’ve been using the tag system, using more photos, adding in more links, sharing to my social medias. I made an official Facebook book that you should check out if that’s your thing.

I’ve never been good at consistency. I struggle and fall off the wagon just as easy as I got on. I’ve attempted to start up on this website about 3-4 times now and each attempt has been a short burst of inspiration that fizzled off into the ether.

I think this time is different. I want this time to be different. I think actually jumping off into my writing is helping me stay present on this site. I have five pending posts to my portfolio because I didn’t want to just straight up spam this site and the people who follow it. I might start providing WIP updates on the stuff I’m working on behind the scenes.

Also journaling is supposed to be good for you. And talking to people is supposed to be cathartic. So we got the best of both worlds here?

The non increase of likes and comments don’t bother me (anymore) because I am a silent observer on the internet. I’m always guilty of reading, watching, consuming without leaving a like or comment. Just clicking away into the void. And there’s nothing malicious. I’m just a negligent, absent minded browser. So I’m here assuming people are the same.

To everyone who reads, to everyone who checks this place out even if just for a second. Thank you
